Church Planting

We are moving to Malawi, the “Warm Heart of Africa,” and we have the privilege of serving in its capital city, Lilongwe, where we will labor to plant a healthy, biblically faithful local church.

Our vision

  • To plant a healthy local church with a high view of God and His word.
  • A church that prioritizes cultivating spiritual relationships in its ministry.
      • The essential relationship with God (Rom. 12:1–2)
      • The priority of one anothers (Jn. 13:34; Col. 3:16; 1 Thess. 5:11; Heb. 10:24)
      • The duty to reach unbelievers (Matt. 28:18–20; 1 Pet. 3:15)
  • A church whose theology informs its methodology and philosophy of ministry.
    • Biblical soul care (1 Pet. 5:1–4)
    •  Church discipline (Matt. 18:15–20; 1 Cor. 5; Gal. 6:1)
    •  Christian education (Deut. 6:6–7; Eph. 4:11–13)
    •   Leadership development (2 Tim. 2:2)

Our mission

“...to magnify God and spread a passion for His glory by making disciples and shepherding them to value Jesus Christ above all else, in every dimension of life, as regulated by the word of God.”

Theological Training

We will also have the privilege of investing in the training of men for pastoral ministry through the ministry of Central African Preaching Academy (CAPA), a training center of The Master’s Academy International (TMAI). Our desire is to follow the pattern Paul gave Timothy: “The things which you have heard from me in the presence of many witnesses, entrust these to faithful men who will be able to teach others also” (2 Tim. 2:2). We long to see faithful men in Malawi equipped to know God’s Word deeply, teach it faithfully, and shepherd God’s people with humility and care.

Our desire is driven by the conviction that the health and growth of the church in Malawi will depend, in large measure, upon the development of faithful pastors and elders who can shepherd their congregations well. Malawi has many men who desire to serve Christ and His church, but opportunities for sound theological education can be difficult to access. For some, pursuing theological training outside the country can mean leaving behind the very congregations they have been called to shepherd, and in some cases, the opportunities available abroad can make returning difficult.

For this reason, we are especially thankful for the opportunity to help provide quality theological training within Malawi itself. Our prayer is to cultivate pastors who love Christ, treasure His Word, love His church, care deeply for the souls entrusted to them, and are equipped to faithfully proclaim and defend the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ. By investing in men where God has already placed them, we hope to see churches strengthened by faithful shepherds who can, in turn, train and disciple others. Thus, the work of theological education is crucial to the larger work of building healthy and doctrinally sound churches throughout Malawi.

Missions is not the ultimate goal of the church. Worship is. Missions exists because worship doesn't.
